School talk

Hunter has really been enjoying pre-school and this summer they were able to do a special project. The pre-school teacher at Hunters school was teaching the kids about the different parts of the plants and how they grow. They were able to each have a tomato plant and they planted lettuce as well. Hunter would come home and tell me about the progress of his plant, how it grows, and how he wanted to eat the tomatoes when they finally grew in. Well the day came where Hunter was able to eat the fruit of his labor and he wanted nothing to do with it! He just liked the idea way better than the actual consumption of lettuce and tomatoes; go figure. Hunter was also fortunate enough to help out the school director in planting the flowers out front of their school. The director’s name is Bob and Hunter loves Bob because he lets him help out with the man jobs around the school. So Bob gave Hunter a shovel and some pansies to plant out front. When I picked up Hunter he was so excited to tell me about his fun day at school with Bob and showed me the flowers that he had planted. He was so proud of himself that he could garden like a big boy. At school Hunter is also learning new songs such as the ABC's, the itsy bitsy spider, and money's in a tree. These are by far his three favorite and we were fortunate enough that his teacher Nicole caught him singing the ABC's on video. (I think the child on Hunter's right is still traumatized from the experience :))

And for those of you that have seen Hunter eat he is a very picky eater. He generally won't eat lunch at school because they serve things like tuna casserole; but he will not eat the good things either like mac and cheese and peanut butter sandwiches. Nicole served the kids' their snack one day, chocolate pudding, and she said that she has never seen Hunter eat so fast. Please observe:

Hunter's other favorite lesson that they learned at school this summer was the planets. He leaned about each plant, which ones are the largest to smallest, and has come to the conclusion that Pluto is his favorite. I am assuming because it is like Mickey Mouse's dog Pluto but either way it is his favorite.
