For the 4th we went down to Provo and had a fun BBQ with the Sheryl and the whole Brimley family at Grandma and Grandpa Brimley's house. The kids had a blast playing with the tricycle's, crocket, and building brick buildings with Shanna. We had a great spead of burgers, hotdogs, veggie burgers, sweet cherries, fruit salad, green salad, and the most amazing frozen lemonade fruit cups. I am still dreaming about those! Then we played a healthy competative game of botche ball; my family and I use to play when we were younger so it brought back some fun memories. The little kids would help throw the small white ball for our target point but when they got tired of that Shanna made up a kid friendly botchy ball game. That night we went over to the Clark's house to watch the Stadium of Fire fireworks but without having to fight the crowds or pay the price. We had a perfect view of the fireworks and Hunter was so amazed. He snuggled up with his Russy and just watched in awe. Then we went back to Sheryl's house for a slumber party. We did not last too long because it was almost 11 at that point! The next day we went home and got ready for our lake house trip. Hunter was so bummed to leave Sheryl's but when he heard we were still going to have fun he was okay.
On that Monday morning, (the 5th), we got up really early but everyone was in good spirits because it was vacation day! We got on the airplane and made the trip to St. Louis. There was very little sleep on the plane from any of us due to the excitement that had been anticipated for over the past few months. When we got to the airport Pippy was there to pick us up and Hunter was so happy to see her. It had been almost 5 months since he had seen her and he was beside himself. We made a lunch stop and a Whole Foods stop before we left and then onto the lake house we went. Needless to say we all took a great nap on the way home after being so exhausted. When we got to the lake house the first thing Hunter wanted to do was get his bathing suit on and go down to the dock. So Russy being the great sport that he is, he got on his suit too, and off to the dock they went. Soon enough Poppop-pop, Uncle John, and Aunt Sue arrived at the house. The boys then went down for a fishing night while the girls stayed up at house to make dinner. Well it turned out to be a great fishing experience for Hunter because he caught is first fish!
Over the next few days we had a blast with wake boarding, golf, the Firefly, eating, movies, playing outside, dinner on the dock, and just pure fun and relaxation. To this day Hunter is still asking if we are going back to the lake.
