December 2009

So after our house got all finished and we were all moved in, the plumbing decided that it did not like the carpet in the basement, and backed up to flood the basement. Ugh... hard lesson learned. Every time when Hunter would use the bathroom, he would use baby wipes, and then flush them. I had no idea that you were not supposed to do that so apparently 198 wipes later, the plumbing backed up, (just secondary water), and flooded the basement. Russy and I left on one great Saturday to go have dinner and do all of our Christmas shopping SLC. We got home at about 10:30, walked down stairs, and SQUISH! Yuck... the floors were all soggy. We had to call rotor-rooter, a water restoration company, and the contractor back out to the house. They ripped up the walls and all of the flooring in the basement... we JUST had everything painted and walls done down there. The following week they had 5 great big air movers in the basement drying everything out.

Christmas was quickly approaching and in all hopes that the basement would be completed by then fell through but we still had such a great time. Christmas Eve we went to Aunt Debbie and Uncle Bob's house to spend time with Stu and the whole Wilde side. We had a such a great dinner and played games. We got home at about 11 put Hunter in his Christmas jammies and put him into bed... once he was asleep "Santa" came and loaded under the tree up with gifts... at 6:30am we woke Hunter up and surprised him with, "Santa came"!!! He was so excited and jumped up out of bed and ran out to the living room. He was so excited and the first thing he saw was his peddle fire truck that Santa brought him. He sat in it and opened most of his presents in it. The last gift that he opened was his new train table from Pippy and Poppop. He was so excited but was so bummed when we told him that it would be a couple of weeks until we could set it up because his play room was broken from the flood. So then we got ready and went down to Provo to see Sheryl, Andy, and Scott. Russy's mom Sheryl was so sweet and had gifts there for all of us to open as soon as we arrived and made a great breakfast. Then we headed over the Grandma and Grandpa Wilde's house for breakfast again and gifts. After spending a couple of hours there we went over to Russy's cousin Kati's house for Christmas luner with Sheryl's family. There were so many kids for Hunter to play with and he had a blast. Kati's house was so adorable and everyone was so much fun. Grandpa Vern and Grandma Dawn gave us all some wonderful books and really enjoyed visiting with us. After we left there, we went back over to the Wilde's for a bit, played some cards, and then went home. Saturday we rested for a while and then headed back down to Provo to spend time with Stu before he had to go back to OR. We had such a great Christmas and can't wait for next year!!

November 2009

What a crazy month!!!! Russy and I only had one week after the CA trip to relax and have fun before the ... work of craziness hit! For our second job they notified us that we were going to have work coming in from the 5th of November to the 21st of November and that we would be busy everyday with files. They were not kidding! In addition to working our normal jobs during the day, we were also working 5-6 hours at night and then 12 hours each day on the weekend. We were like walking zombie’s. Oh not to forget to mention we were in the process of moving to the Ogden house!!! Whew! Anyhow, while the Ogden house was being painted and had some small renovations being completed we were working, packing, and busy trying to keep Hunter occupied so he would not unpack his stuff. Anyhow, the 19th of November came and the work actually was done early so on Saturday the 20th, we began our move up North. In one day Russy, myself, and our friend Robbie moved all of the big stuff and anything small that we had packed. On Sunday Russy and I moved everything else that we could and then it was up to me during the day for Monday and Tuesday; I was off and Russy had to work. Hunter went to school and I moved as much as I could into the house. We both had Wednesday off because we were moving but also flying out to FL to visit Lins and her family for Thanksgiving. So we got the last of everything we could into the house, went back to SLC, got ready, finished packing, and then got on a plane. (I packed my shoes and Hunter's shoes so we did have go buy more shoes before we could even get on the plane!!). The flight was so great, (5 hours non-stop and Hunter was such a good boy), and they had free internet. Russy and I finished our work and landed in Orlando at mid-night. We met up with Stu, Russy's dad, and then made our way up to Gainesville. Thanksgiving morning we got up and ate like pigs because the all you could eat breakfast in our hotel was just what we needed. Then we went over to visit with Lins. Deacon and Scarlett were waiting for Hunter's arrival so they could all play and have fun. The food, weather, and company was so nice that day. I could have not asked for anything more. On Friday we went the U of FL to see the stadium, the coaches office, and the gator store. Lins's husband Brian took us on a tour and it was a lot of fun. Russy and I bought way too much for Hunter at the gator store but he loved it. He got a back pack of Albert the gator, gator crock shoes, and a new hoodie. He was in heaven... so were Russy and I. We got new jackets and I got new comfy pants. I could not have asked for anything more. Saturday we went to the Rival game of Uof FL and FL State. It was Tim Tebow's last game at the swamp and it was so much fun! It was my first college football game and it was so much fun. I ate all of the things I should not eat though and enjoyed my whole day. When Tim came out Lins cheered so loud and I swear she was crying :). The rest of the trip was so fun and we just hung out and enjoyed the down time. On Monday when we got back, we grabbed the last load of stuff, cleaned my house in SLC and made the final decent into Ogden. We finally got the house finished the second week of December, (meaning the renovations), and finished moving in.

October 2009

Hunter and I began our trip to California on October 23, 2009 to visit Pippy, Poppop, and Tee-Tee. We spent 10 days there and really enjoyed ourselves and had a great visit with everyone. To start of the trip though my mom picked us up from the airport and we went to her house where we met Tee-Tee. Hunter was so tired from the trip so he wanted to nap and eat. Whit and I decided to go shopping and have lunch at Fashion Island. Oh yeah... and I needed to find a dress for my 10 year high school reunion that night! Russy and I had found one before we had left SLC but after talking to my friends it sounded like everyone was wearing something black and cocktail style. Anyhow, after looking for a while and no finding anything amazing, we decided to go get our nails done and then head back home. In the mean time Hunter woke up from his nap and was not feeling well at all. So we headed back home and found him sitting in the living room with Pippy and Poppop watching TV. As soon as he saw me he had a melt down because he thought I left him there for the week. Poor Hunter! The last time we went to CA I had to drop him off for a week because of training in FL. Well he finally calmed down ate dinner and was relaxing all before I had to go to the reunion. I got ready and went to my reunion. The dress that Russy and I picked out was just perfect and it was great to see my friends again. After 40 minutes of being there it was time for me to get going... poor Hunter was feeling awful again and had developed a fever of 102! So I got home, got into bed with my little match stick, and went to bed. He felt so much better the next day and just in time for our early Thanksgiving with my family.

We got up the next morning in 75 degree weather, (oh how nice it was), and got ready to go visit with Sally and her family. Sally is my best friend since we were 12 years old and she has three kids, Cody 3 and Sam and Amanda 2 (twins). It was really nice to go see her and the kids. I also go to visit with her mom Melanie and dad Lynn. Hunter was so excited to see friends and play with the bat car in Mel's backyard. Unfortunately, I dress him like it was UT weather and he was a ball of sweat when we left there! We headed back to Pippy and Poppop's house though because our family was coming over for an early Thanksgiving. Sam came over with his girls and we dressed up Hunter as Santa and the girls as his elves for Pippy and Poppop's Christmas card. It was awesome! Again Hunter was a ball of sweat but loved every minute of his costume. I have to scan in the card because it was priceless! Anyhow, we all ate a great Thanksgiving dinner and pie. Hunter then learned a few ballet moves from Anna and Khira and he shared all of his cars with them. It was a fun day for sure.

On Monday Hunter and I went to visit with my other best friend Laura and her family; Mike, Lily, and Lexi. Hunter and Lily are only two months apart and had so much fun together. They played chef, hair dresser, and had a ton of fun in the caterpillar tube. It was really nice to visit with Laura and see her new baby Lexi. The girls are so sweet and fun. Mike cooked an awesome dinner and we hung out until it was well past everyone's bed time. On Tuesday Pippy set up facial's for Whitney and I so we got to go get facial's while Pippy and Hunter went to the gym and played with new toys there. Hunter even got to take home one of the tractors from the gym's daycare center. On Wednesday we went back to Fashion Island to go shopping and have lunch. We took Hunter on the carousel there and he still talks about it today. He loves going on the carousel there and this time chose the reindeer. He got a new space shuttle from Pippy and an adorable red hoodie from American Apparel. On Thursday we went to Long Beach to visit Whit and she was getting ready to move to San Francisco with her friend Laura. She was packing and just so excited. On Friday my mom and I worried about her the whole day as she was driving a U-Haul up the SF with her two girl friends that were helping her move and get situated. Whit finally made it up there by 9pm that night and got situated. On Saturday it was Halloween and Hunter got to go Trick or Treating twice! There is a farmers market in old town Yorba Linda and all of the shops have their doors open and pass out candy for the kids. Hunter was so excited to dress up as Batman and was the only Batman out there. He received a lot of candy and pulled a classic Whitney; he was eating the candy as fast as he was getting it placed in his bag and leaving a trail of wrappers. After we left there Poppop took us out for Sushi and Hunter again was able to show off his costume. That night we went back over to Mike and Laura's house for dinner and took the kids out trick or treating. Hunter and Lily had so much fun together and did really well with only eating two pieces of candy after their adventure. Hunter and I went back home and he went to bed. I got ready in my classic flapper costume and went over to my friend Emma's house for her birthday/costume party. I went with Mike and Laura and got to see all of my friends again that I did not really get to spend time with at my reunion. It was so much fun and I got home at 3 am... I was the DD. :) On Sunday Marky made a fantastic breakfast and we just lounged all day at the house. It was so nice and before we had to go back to the airport he made hot and sour soup. It was so much fun to go see my family and spend time with everyone. Hunter and I got home at about Midnight and Russy was there to pick us up. He was so glad that we had so much fun but he said that we could not leave him for 10 days EVER again.

Long Winter Nap

Hi everyone! What a crazy time of year it was for us at the end of 2009 and the first two months of 2010. Our blog is finally out of hibernation and ready to tell all of the fun times that were to be had for the last five months; (I think if I could nap for five months, I would finally be caught up on sleep deprivation that started back in fall of 1996 when Water Polo season started). Enjoy!
